“Dusk Stalls”
Dusk Stalls is the third painting in the market series, sitting between Morning Stalls and Night Stalls. It captures the brief in-between hour when the day hasn’t fully let go and night hasn’t yet arrived, when lanterns begin to glow, voices soften, and the market slows into something more intimate.
This piece was inspired by wandering without a plan and stumbling upon a small stall at dusk. Drawn in by the quiet warmth of the space, I ended up trying the biggest cold, raw oyster I had ever seen it was briny, fresh, and completely unforgettable. It was one of those moments where travel feels less about where you’re going and more about where you pause.
Together, the three paintings tell a quiet story: the freshness of morning, the glow of dusk, and the hum of night. Dusk Stalls holds the transition, a reminder that some of the most meaningful moments happen when you slow down long enough to notice them.
