“Dusk Stalls”
Dusk Stalls is the third painting in the market series, sitting between Morning Stalls and Night Stalls. It captures the brief in-between hour when the day hasn’t fully let go and night hasn’t yet arrived — when lanterns begin to glow, voices soften, and the market slows into something more intimate.
This piece was inspired by wandering without a plan and stumbling upon a small stall at dusk. Drawn in by the quiet warmth of the space, I ended up trying the biggest cold, raw oyster I had ever seen — briny, fresh, and completely unforgettable. It was one of those moments where travel feels less about where you’re going and more about where you pause.
Together, the three paintings tell a quiet story: the freshness of morning, the glow of dusk, and the hum of night. Dusk Stalls holds the transition — a reminder that some of the most meaningful moments happen when you slow down long enough to notice them.
